Holiday Boarding Prep
If the holidays mean that your pet will be boarding in a kennel or onto a plane, train or automobile, there are things you can do to make sure things go as smoothly as possible. Here are some things to consider if you are either boarding your best friend this season or taking them along with you!
Is your pet on a special or prescription diet? If so, check to make sure you have enough for the entire length of stay or the trip before you leave. You’ll also want to see that both dogs and cats are current on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
For your pet’s comfort, it’s always a good idea to bring toys, bedding, and blankets from home. These items will provide reassurance for your pet while you’re away or while traveling. Dogs will benefit greatly from an hour of exercise prior to arrival at the kennel or the start of a trip.
