Dr. Laura Cauthen, founder of Animal Medical Center of Tyler, is a Mount Vernon native who earned her bachelor's from Texas A&M–Commerce and her DVM from Texas A&M University in 2007. After serving as Chief of Staff in a Tyler practice, she opened AMC in 2011 with a mission to provide top-quality veterinary care. She has interests in oncology, soft tissue surgery, and dermatology and values lifelong client relationships. Retired from daily practice, she still fills in as needed. She has four children and enjoys tennis, church, and family time.
